Remembering Mom...

Hi All!

Thanks for coming by today. I'm afraid I had something awful happen to my family & I last week which is why I've been MIA again so to speak. My lovely Mother passed away from what we believe was a massive heart attack in her sleep, she was only 62 years old & should not have left us so soon. We laid her to rest this past Saturday & have been working daily to get my Dad settled & take care of her things & just outright letting it "sink" in. I will say last Wednesday 10/20/2010 was one of the worst days of my life so far. I will return to my "day job" tomorrow which happens to be a place she worked for 12 years so I expect to be a bit overwhelmed with questions & condolences, in fact I've had some form of flowers or plants delivered to my door everyday since Saturday & appreciate all those who have been so nice. I especially want to shout out to my fellow members of the DT with The Character Cafe along with the owners Kendra & Kelly as well I appreciate all the condolences, thoughts & prayers sent my way last week. I can't say I'm back in full swing or partial swing yet for that matter but I'm working on it my Mom knew how much I loved this hobby & wouldn't want me to stop so I'll be back :) For now I leave you with a picture of my Mom, her name was Penny & she was worth oh so much more than that.
Thanks again for coming by!

You can see the love and kindness in your Mom's face. I know things must feel overwhelming and unreal right now. Time won't take away the pain, but day by day it eases a little. You're still in my thoughts and prayers.

Hugs,
Jessie

Hi Deanette, Glad to hear you are trying to get things back to as normal as they can be in the midst of this horrible time in your life. Jessica said it right, day by day it will ease...with the love and support of family & friends and it sounds as though you have lots of that to help you through this. Know that we are all still thinking of you and hoping you will be back to your crafty self in time for the hop next week...take care of yourself.

Hugs,
Kelly

Again, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you are taking care of yourself (as well as your dad), and taking things one day at a time. The hurt will lessen and your wonderful memories of your mom will keep you strong.

I can't even image it Deanette! I'm so very sorry for such a loss. Your mother has such a great smile, I'm sure she brightened the day of many and just hang on to that. It never goes away, but it does get easier especially when you know they'd kick your butt if you fell apart! Stay strong, sending you all some strength and prayers... {{{HUGS}}}

Deanette,

Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to comment on my little card. I can tell that your mother raised you well. So by that, and seeing her lovely picture, I know she must have been a wonderful person. Hearing of your loss reminds me of mine 10 years ago. One thing I do remember that will happen for the first few weeks or months is, that it only takes a smell, words of kindness from someone, a picture, a song, or anything you know that she loved, to make you think of her. But you can cherish those thoughts instead of feeling sad over them.

Hugs, dj
